2. Scope
Applies to all employees, contractors, and volunteers.
3. Recruitment and Selection
- Roles have written position descriptions covering skills, qualifications, and key responsibilities
- Recruitment is fair and transparent; selection is based on documented criteria
- References are checked and recorded
4. Screening
- All workers in risk-assessed roles hold a current NDIS Worker Screening clearance before commencement
- Working with Children Check, First Aid, and CPR currency are tracked where the role requires it
- Screening expiry dates are tracked centrally; lapsed clearances are escalated
5. Induction and Training
- New workers complete induction covering NDIS Code of Conduct, participant rights, incident reporting, complaints, and the organisation's core policies
- Mandatory annual training covers safeguarding, privacy, work health and safety, and infection control
- Role-specific training is provided as required (medication, behaviour support, manual handling)
- Training completion is recorded and retained for 7 years
6. Supervision and Performance
- Workers receive structured supervision at a frequency appropriate to the role and risk
- Annual performance reviews include feedback, development planning, and identification of training needs
- Performance concerns are addressed through a documented improvement process
7. Conduct and Boundaries
- Workers comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Personal relationships with participants outside of service delivery are disclosed
- Gifts and financial transactions with participants are not permitted other than under documented exceptions
